Discover La Cosecha Mexican Table

Walking into La Cosecha Mexican Table feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot that somehow still surprises you. The restaurant sits at 505 N Business Interstate Hwy 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130, United States, an easy stop whether you’re local or passing through town. I’ve eaten here more than once, usually after a long afternoon out on the Comal River, and it has become one of those places where you already know you’re going to leave satisfied before the menu even hits the table.

The first thing that stands out is how thoughtfully the menu is put together. Instead of overwhelming you with endless options, it focuses on well-executed Mexican comfort food. On one visit, I watched a server explain the slow-cooking process behind their carnitas to a curious table nearby, describing how the pork is braised low and slow to keep it tender. That attention to process matters. According to food science research shared by the USDA, slow cooking at controlled temperatures helps preserve moisture and flavor in meats, which explains why each bite here feels rich without being heavy.

I usually start with chips and salsa, which sounds basic until you realize how fresh everything tastes. The salsa carries a balanced heat, not overpowering, and pairs well with their house-made chips. During one lunch rush, I noticed the kitchen rotating batches quickly, which lines up with CDC food safety guidelines that recommend minimizing holding times to keep food fresh and safe. It’s reassuring without being something you actively think about while eating.

Main dishes shine with the same consistency. Their enchiladas are layered with care, and the sauces taste like they’ve been built from the ground up rather than poured from a bag. A friend of mine, who used to work in restaurant operations, pointed out how rare it is to find a place that keeps flavors consistent across multiple visits. That consistency often reflects strong kitchen training, something frequently emphasized by organizations like the National Restaurant Association when discussing customer trust and repeat business.

What really keeps people coming back, though, is the atmosphere. The dining room feels relaxed, and the staff tends to remember faces. On one visit, our server remembered my usual order and even suggested a seasonal special that wasn’t listed front and center. That kind of personal interaction adds credibility to the positive reviews you’ll see online, many of which mention friendly service and dependable food quality.

Families, couples, and solo diners all seem comfortable here. The location near the highway makes it convenient, but it doesn’t feel rushed or transient. That balance is hard to pull off, especially in a town that attracts tourists year-round. From what I’ve observed, the restaurant manages it by keeping operations simple and focused, which aligns with industry research showing that streamlined menus often lead to better execution and higher customer satisfaction.

There are limitations worth noting. On especially busy evenings, wait times can stretch longer than expected, and parking can feel tight. Still, the staff is upfront about delays, which builds trust rather than frustration. Transparency like that is often cited by hospitality experts as a key factor in positive dining experiences.

Between the carefully prepared dishes, the welcoming service, and its accessible location, this restaurant fits naturally into the New Braunfels dining scene. Whether you’re checking reviews before your first visit or already familiar with the menu, it delivers a reliable experience that feels genuine rather than staged.

  • Brisket tacos had good texture and flavor... Step up when dipped in sauce! Rice and beans were average and packed in seasoning. Barbacoa tacos were good texture and flavor. Oysters were good, green had better flavor than red but well cooked (bread that came with was yummy). Drinks were average and expected more.

  • We just left and I had to immediately give my 5 star review! Let me start by saying the service from Kyle was amazing. He went above and beyond to make our lunch perfect. The chips and salsa were so fresh and the best I’ve had in NB! The rest of the food we had was just as amazing! Get the shishito peppers!! You won’t be disappointed!!

  • We’ve only sat in the bar area due to the staff that are wonderful! Fajitas are fantastic and margaritas some of the best. The tequilla selection they have is top quality, hard to find tequillas! Always a good time for date night or night out with friends!

  • One of a kind, so good it felt like the cherry on top of an already amazing weekend! Came in maybe 25 min after they opened for Sunday brunch with a group of 6 and honestly, if I find myself in the area again, I will absolutely come back. Pretty pretty building, we were a bit taken aback! Looks and feels very upscale, as well as great service--despite it getting busier as our time there progressed. Price: Yeah, it's on the pricier side, BUT the quality and presentation in each dish were definitely worth every penny. Food: Youll get some warm salted chips with a warmed n firey salsa, and boy is it delicious. A friend ordered the brisket queso for the table, split amongst 5 of us present, and we could not get enough of it. Coffee sadly was not something to write home about but I'm letting it slide because the mimosas were GOOD. Another friend ordered the Mexican Toast--a play on French toast--which was custard and almost flan like! Now, the star for me personally was the Mexican Eggs Benedict, a soft cornmeal pancake with a bed of brisket, and a fried poached egg....truly a different approach, but so perfectly executed. You should eat here and treat your tastebuds.

  • We came in with a large group right before closing. They graciously sat us and served us. We had amazing service. One boy in our party had a birthday and the server brought a candle and dessert. We all sang to him. Margarita was ok. Pollo enchiladas with cream sauce were good. The fajitas looked great! Kids meals were only $6. Such a bargain. I wasn’t a fan of the rice. Black beans were good. Chips and salsa complimentary. One gal really liked them. I thought the chips were too thick and the salsa too smoky in flavor.

  • I finally tried La Cosecha Mexican Table, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not coming here sooner. I’ve lived in Texas for five years, and this was my very first visit but it definitely won’t be my last. The reviews raving about their fajitas, especially the Wagyu steak and chicken, were absolutely right. From the moment I walked in, the vibe immediately reminded me of being in Cancún or Cabo San Lucas relaxed, vibrant, and full of that elevated coastal-Mexican atmosphere. It truly set the tone for an amazing dining experience. To start, the tortilla chips were hands down the BEST chips/appetizer I’ve ever had. They were unbelievably crispy, fresh, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For my main course, I went with the Wagyu steak and chicken fajitas, and they were exceptional incredibly flavorful, tender, and downright succulent. Pairing them with two of their house margaritas was a great choice; the drinks had the perfect balance of flavor and alcohol. My waiter, Hunter W., was soft-spoken, attentive, and genuinely helpful the entire time. His service added even more to an already great experience. La Cosecha Mexican Table exceeded every expectation, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

  • I had the best chicken I have had in my entire life. Do yourself a favor and order the Pollo Con Mole. The flavors are perfectly balanced and I can't wait to go back. The fajitas were perfect, best we have found here in New Braunfels. The appetizer selection is great. The booths are a bit small for my personal preference (like really I'm not a skinny girl) and their drink menu could be enhanced by adding more options. The tequila old fashioned had too much Bitters and I would have preferred a standard old fashioned. The service is excellent. Making the entire meal an experience rather than just getting some food somewhere.
